Bonding jumpers are used as a reliable method to ensure that all surfaces accessible to a person are at the same current thus reducing electric shock. They must be sized to safely handle any anticipated fault current. Typically bonded to the earth for a ground, this is not the case for aircraft applications. Bonding jumpers are installed anywhere metal parts will be moving and producing friction, such as a hinge or bearing.
